For Compliance Teams

Evidence that stands up under regulatory review

When an examiner asks where a reported figure came from, "we checked" is not enough. Pramaana gives you a verifiable chain from the reported number back to the source document, passage, and approval that produced it.

The Problem

What compliance reviews expose

Most regulatory responses fail on traceability, not accuracy. The figures are right. The ability to prove them under examination pressure is not.

  • Evidence requested weeks after the fact

Regulatory requests arrive long after the review period. The team that ran the process may have changed. The document locations are not recorded. Assembly starts from scratch.

  • Inconsistent citation formats across teams

One team cites by filename. Another by SharePoint URL. A third by meeting note date. Examiners cannot follow an inconsistent trail regardless of whether the underlying facts are accurate.

  • Cross-document reconciliation under time pressure

A single reported figure may derive from three source documents across two systems. Tracing all three in the 48 hours a regulator allows is not realistic without a dedicated tool.

  • No audit trail on the evidence itself

The compliance team can show a figure matches the source. They cannot prove the comparison was not modified after the fact. Mutability of evidence files is itself an examination finding.

Use Cases

Where compliance teams use Pramaana

Not every compliance use case is an audit. Evidence-chain requirements appear across the full regulatory lifecycle.

SOX 302 and 906 certifications

Officers signing off on financial reports need documented evidence that the material figures in the 10-K or 10-Q are traceable to underlying books and records. Pramaana generates that documentation as a byproduct of the trace.

Bank examination response

FDIC, OCC, and Fed examiners request support for specific figures during safety-and-soundness reviews. Pramaana lets your team pull a verifiable evidence package within hours, not days, for any indexed reporting period.

FINRA and SEC document production

Regulatory document productions require organizing evidence around specific requests. Pramaana exports organized by topic, figure, or date range to match the production structure the regulator specified.

Built to Regulation

What regulators require, built in from day one

Immutability

Every trace record is write-once and cryptographically signed. No team member can modify a completed trace without generating a new, dated revision. The chain of custody is verifiable by the examiner independently.

Retention

Trace records are retained for seven years by default in compliance with standard financial services record-retention rules. Enterprise plans support custom retention schedules and export to your own records management system.

Access Control

Role-based access separates who can index documents, who can review traces, and who can export evidence packages. All actions are logged with user, timestamp, and IP to support examination of your internal controls.

Exportability

Evidence packages export as signed PDF, structured JSON, or directly to ServiceNow GRC, Workiva, and TeamMate+. The export format matches the structure regulators and examiners specify in their document requests.

Build the evidence chain before the request arrives

Pramaana indexes your documents continuously. When the examiner's request comes in, the evidence chain already exists. Your team responds in hours, not weeks.
